This year kicked off with DentiMax’s Dream Sensors receiving a Dental Economics and DentistryIQ review feature. It came from Dr. Joshua Austin, DDS, FAGD.
Austin started his solo general practice in October 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He started after graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School. He began directing and writing the Pearls for Your Practice: The Product Navigator column after that.
After many years of experience into his practice, Dr. Austin recognizes that his dental sensors continually get the most wear and tear.
The need for great dental sensors
"We use them multiple times a day, beat the hell out of them, and expect them to work every time without exception." Dr. Austin said in his review.
"We ask a lot of our digital radiographic sensors. I think it’s OK to ask yourself periodically if you have the right ones for your practice."
While Dr. Austin thinks of big name brands initially, he finds that smaller companies such as DentiMax can make advances and improvements much faster.
"Oftentimes, we see smaller companies come to market with advances and improvements that the big companies can’t achieve."
"The DentiMax Dream Sensor is a perfect example of that. For a digital radiographic sensor, the Dream Sensor is a workhorse."
Dr. Austin
Austin namely focuses on three features that make it a contender with the "big wigs" of the industry:
Three Key Features Dental Sensors Need
- Active-pixel technology inside the sensor that makes it produce crystal clear imagery,
- Thin, rounded edges for major patient comfort, and
- Its hardware and software open system compatibility.
